I read that some say 2025 is the symbol of purpose. Well, that is great, and I concur. That was the theme of 2024 also. As a matter of fact, purpose ought to be the theme of our entire life. What exactly does that include for a disciple of Christ?
It is not different every year. Jesus’ words to His disciples were ‘Occupy till I come’ (Luke 19:13). Some will go to meet the Lord while occupying, and that is great. What does that mean? “Go ye into all the world” and preach the gospel teaching all men what He taught (Mark 16:15). Jesus taught us a lifestyle, not evangelistic boom – a lifestyle to integrate Christ’s principles into our lives.
It’s like your favorite seasoning. Nana always says a little Julio’s Seasoning on everything makes it better. For example, in and for all things give thanks to Jesus. Before making decisions, pray and ask the Holy Spirit for the decision He wants for you. Do not make plans unless you know the Holy Spirit has purpose for them. Ask for His wisdom, not for Him to bless YOUR wisdom.
Some people reading this will say that this is too time consuming, or that I only ask the Holy Spirit when I make mistakes or need help. If that is what you believe, you’re simply screwed. You will never grow close or depend on Jesus. Your independence is why you’re fearful, anxious, depressed, and a failure. It’s like allowing a 5-year-old to drive a semi-truck. Sure, he can hold onto the steering wheel, but he cannot make decisions if his life depended on it.
Your happiness is totally dependent on Jesus taking the steering wheel of your life. Remember that purpose in Jesus is not a New Year’s Resolution. It is a total dedication to purpose 24/7.
