With the holidays coming up, we thought you might want something simple to impress your family.  If you’re new to the kitchen, this will step up your game so that you don’t have to use Cool Whip, although we have plenty of recipes with that as well.  Have fun and, of course, add more or less sugar depending on your preference.

Ingredients
  • 16 ounces whipping cream
  • ¼ – ½ cup powdered sugar

Instructions
  • Chill mixing bowl and beaters for at least 30 minutes.
  • Pour cream and ¼ cup of the powdered sugar into chilled mixing bowl.
  • Using a hand or stand mixer, beat just until the beaters leave a trail in the cream.
  • Taste to see if more sugar is needed. If so, fold in gently.
  • When the sweetness is right for you, continue to beat making sure the powdered sugar is dissolving.
  • Depending on your preference and the recipe, stop beating when the whipped cream holds its shape when a spoon is removed, but the top folds over. (Be careful not to overwhip and make butter.)
