Our Blog

Around the Supper Table

We gather around our supper table daily to share with family. Not only do we enjoy the hugs and laughter, but it gives us an opportunity to share our journey with each other so that we can strengthen and encourage one another.

We have created this blog in hopes that our struggles, and sometimes revelations, can help you. We know that life can be difficult, but it is only through Him that we “live, and move, and have our being . . .” as stated in Acts 17:28. He hasn’t taken our struggle from us, but He has given us purpose in our struggles that we may help each other. We appreciate feedback and prayer requests.

In Matthew 11:28-30 it reminds us to, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

When I was in school, my performance was less than stellar. What other kids were able to get done in class, I usually took home for homework. I was always amazed in school that kids said they were bored. I..... Read More

Around the Supper Table #111 – Standing up on My Watch

We have been visiting and delivering produce to families for over two years now, and some of the families have been there since day one. We’ve seen extraordinary things.  We’ve seen God bless our family as well as others.  God..... Read More

Around the Supper Table #110 – Growing Up with Brothers

A few years back, my brothers and I were helping Pa roof his house one summer. When we work together, we usually have at least one, if not ten conversations going. Well, I think this was the first time there..... Read More

Around the Supper Table #109 – Wheat and Tares

Good day, Friend.  Hope this finds you in love with Jesus.  There are times I ponder why Jesus used simple nature examples to prove a point.  They start with, “. . . a man who sowed good seed in his field..... Read More

My husband and I dated in high school, then got married after seven and a half years of dating.  When we were dating, he’d often tell me that he loved me, and I’d say, “I know,” with a confused look. ..... Read More
