“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord”
– 2 Corinthians 3:18

I was going to empty vegetable scraps to the chickens the other night.  As I drove to the chicken pens, I spotted a covey of about 15 to 20 quail running across the pasture: mommy, daddy, and their babies.  The parents did not fly, because the babies were too small.

Next, I encountered another covey and then another.  I saw one baby by itself.  It seemed to be left behind.  Mom and Dad appeared to escort the baby back to the rest of the covey.  Many animals demonstrate the love of parents for children.  Too bad all humans have not learned the lesson of sacrificial love.

I also encountered a little rabbit, a dove, and various other birds.  To see nature up close is so peaceful.  The peace of nature lets us know what God intended, not only in the Garden, but for the whole world.  If we could only accept that there are worlds inside of worlds, or kingdoms within kingdoms, and trust that when we pray, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done,” we believe that Jesus‘ Kingdom is in our hearts and allow the Holy Spirit to flood us with His love, joy, and peace (Matthew 6:10; Galatians 5:22-23).

Like the open fields, God’s creation has peace.  I encourage you to go outside, morning or evening, and just see the stunning color display of a sunrise or sunset: the beginning or end of a new day of creation (Psalm 19:1).

If you have a chance, find where farmers grow giant sunflowers.  Watch early in the morning as the plants, in unison, turn to tilt their flowerheads toward the rising sun as if to say, “Good morning, God.  ‘This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24).  The sunflowers track the sun across the sky; and then when the sun goes down, they say, “Until morning, God.”

All creation, except man, is naturally designed to give God glory.  What is glory?  Think of shining back.  The moon does not produce a source of light.  What you see, day or night, is the moon reflecting the light of the sun.

When we stand directly facing the Son, Jesus, we are seen as being full of light, peace, joy, purpose; because we are reflecting all the love of Jesus that He shines on us.  When sin gets between us and Jesus, we grow dark, lifeless, fearful, anxious, and struggle with life and purpose.

In the morning, stand in the light of Jesus, the son of God, and observe His presence.  Then, you also will be a light to your world.  Let all creation glory in the wonderful love of God.
