Yes, we know that most Southern homes have their version of cream cheese icing, and there’s not much variability.  But we wanted to make sure everyone knew about this treasure.  There is something about a delicious cream cheese icing that makes sweet treats even more delectable.  We recommend this recipe on Aunt Alisa’s cinnamon rolls.  If you ever have some leftover, thin it out with milk and drizzle over zucchini bread or cinnamon roll cookies.

Ingredients

• ½ cup butter, softened
• 8 ounces of cream cheese, softened
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 2 cups of powdered sugar, may need more

Instructions

• Blend butter and cream cheese
• Add vanilla.
• Add powdered sugar a little at a time until it is the desired thickness for you. (If you want it thicker, you can add more than 2 cups of powdered sugar.)
